Hi. Need to extend my power supply cord. Can you tell me what the dimensions are of the plug that goes into the back of the unit? I think it’s probably something like 5.5mm x 2.5 or 2.1mm, but need confirmation before ordering. Thanks
Hi surfmonkey,
You can refer the link mentioned below to get the information about the Power Adapter for your My Cloud Home device.
Hi Brandon
One of your colleagues answered this query on the 17th.
Kind regards
The one that mine came with was a KTEC KSAS0241200150HU.
It is a 12v, 1.5a, 5.5mm x 2.5mm barrel plug AC adapter.
I found some OEM adapters on eBay, but as far as suitable replacements go this was all I could find:
https://www.amazon.com/Chanzon-Switching-100-240V-Transformer-Security/dp/B07G12L4SC/
Though, there’s a Tripp Lite Eaton BC36ML UPS that would also work (and bonus, if you have a power outage your disks don’t suddenly lose power and possibly corrupt files or sectors):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CJLFF9XS/
Don’t use after market power supply such as the ones listed.
The OEM supplier for the My Cloud Home is APD, for the 6TB and lower the power supply is model WB-18R12FU, the 18 stands for 18W.
Buy the power supply from WD webstore or better yet, don’t buy any used My Cloud Home unless it comes with 2 year warranty with power supply. Often, the factory refurbished My Cloud Home complete package will be around $100 shipped for the 4TB model, direct from Western Digital (sometimes from the official WD Ebay webstore portal, refurbished by Western Digital).
