Problem streaming with latest firmware

Hi,

since I upgraded my WD myBook Live to the latest firmware ( 024105-034-20130215) there is a big problem streaming video to my tv (Samsung 46 S6200). After about 8-15 minutes, the tv just stops streaming and can’t find the myBookLive. I have to switch off the tv and back on so that the myBookLive is visible again. This never happened before the upgrade and happens with all the video material I have. I tried both media servers, twonky and the new wd media server. Both had the same problem.

I just downgraded again to the previous firmware ( 023205-046-20120910) and everything is working again fine. So there seems to be a problem with the latest firmware and samsung tvs…

Can you fix that problem, because I like the new wd media server :slight_smile:

Thanks,

Bernd

BerndS,

Can you detail the process for downgrading the firmware?

A little history about my situation;

I received my unit a few days ago. After I got it up and running, I used the automatic update for the firmware, which gave me the MyBookLive 02.41.05-034 : Core F/W version. I didn’t want Twonky as my media server, so I downloaded and applied the WD Media Server patch to switch over to the DLNA server, which is what their product manual shows. In fact the product manual has the Twonky as a “legacy” product, near the back of the manual.

I’ve been having difficulty when I try and access music and/or video from my Sony Blu-Ray player. Not all the music or video files show up. Some folders even give me the “No playable files” message when selected. This in itself is interesting because folders that are truly empty don’t even show up in the folder list.

These same files, which were copied from a Windows Home Server, so up fine when I access them from the WHS. So my assumption is that it is something with the WD unit. I’ve tried “rescan” and “rebuild” to no avail. I’ve rebooted, and shutdown, again to no avail.

In my searching the WD community, I ran across your posting, and wanted to give it a try, but when I used the .deb file from your link, the upgrade process on the unit gives me an 31101 error message. Some quick checks in the community give me the impression that a rollback/downgrade is not possible. So I’m wondering how you did it.

Hi,

I used the following guide:

(I did the first one via the reset button…went absolutely smooth)
