I use the WD TV Live player for just over a year now and it’s like it’s aging or something. The device locks quicker, I cannot play music continuously for more than a couple of hours without stopping/locking/freezing or play songs each only 3 seconds and continuing to the next. Very annoying. Is have to take out the power multiple times a day now!

Defrag my drive? It’s a NAS, no USB drive.
Its not about defrag.I have 7 hard disks(from 500gb till 2tb) and with the last firmware it stucks every time i going to folders and check the movies or the other files.It need unplug and plug again from the AC.It is really annoying all this situation.I havent problem with other firmwares but this is what wd want?Consumers that always rollback to old firmwares because the new is messed up?They add autores+>2tb hard disks and they messed up with other things.Dont make defrag or anything else.The wd stuck and is wd live false not your hard disk.
Please, what is the version number of this bad firmware?
