Questions/Complaints

Dear WD Community forum moderators, please delete this post. The terrible forum software won’t allow me to delete my own posts. It helpfully tells me to flag the post explaining that I want it deleted, but sadly at no point does it say how to do that.

To reiterate: PLEASE DELETE THIS POST

Did you buy a My Cloud or My Cloud Home device? They are not the same. The My Cloud Home has different features/options than the My Cloud.

If one purchased a single bay/single drive My Cloud (the subject of this subforum) then one can use Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder to access the device on the local network. One can map a “Share” (either public or private).

If you purchased a single bay My Cloud, see the My Cloud User Manual for how to use the device and its options/features.

As to why a hard drive, when formatted shows less space than advertised. See the following link which explains this:

Because of how the My Cloud drive is formatted and due to how the firmware (Linux OS) is stored on the drive itself, one will not see the full amount of storage space that they normally would if they formatted the My Cloud hard drive as a bare hard drive with a single partition.

@genaldar Because you have a My Cloud Home you should place your topic in the correct sub-forum or ask that it be moved. My Cloud Home - Personal Cloud Storage - WD Community

This link will provide videos from You Tube for My Cloud Home.

@genaldar I don’t know if this will work for the topic you created or not, but, you can try the two steps shown below if you haven’t already. First click on the three dot icon to show more choices, then click on the trash can as shown in step 2.

Step Two.
