RAID 1 Can't Access When 1 Drive Lost

I was able the clone the HDD through my PR4100 by changing to RAID 1.
After that, I took one HDD off (let’s label it as HDD 1).
Then I accidentally change the system to JBOD mode, so all of my data in HDD 2 has been erased.
Then I tried to put HDD 1 back into my pr4100, but I was not able to access the data.

WD tech support suggested me to put two drives into my PR4100, then change to RAID 1. after format those two drives, put the HDD1 back to the NAS. but it’s still showing me “No Configured Volumes”

plssssss help… I have almost all of my data in that HDD…

Hi,

You could refer to this KBA: My Cloud: RAID Online User Guide and Solutions

If you put HDD1 alone back in the unit it should see it as a degraded Raid1

If you have already put HDD1 back in the unit with the Jbod disk together Im not sure what the outcome woukd be

I did… but it shows as a error volume…

Your safest bet might be to boot up from a usb and have a look from there, there are instructions how to do that on this board
What you dont want to risk is the raid rebuilding itself over your data

Rebuild the raid does format the drive for sure… and I did plug my hdd into my computer & pr4100 through USB port in front. But it’s not accessible since it’s RAW format in the HDD
