But know I have the Problem that no Raid is Configurated an the System whants me to Formate all 4 Disks to generate Raid 10. How can i set up Raid 10 without deleting the Disks?

Hi Gex87,

You can refer to the links mentioned below to know how to change RAID mode in WD My Cloud PR4100.

To recover the RAID 10 configuration without formatting the disks, you can try the following steps:

  1. Boot from the system’s rescue media (e.g., USB drive or CD/DVD) or enter the RAID controller’s management utility.
  2. Once in the rescue environment or RAID management utility, look for an option to import or recover an existing RAID configuration.
  3. The utility should be able to scan the connected disks and detect the RAID metadata on them. It may then allow you to import or reassemble the existing RAID configuration.
  4. If the utility successfully detects the RAID metadata, it should be able to rebuild the RAID 10 array without requiring you to format or delete the data on the disks.
  5. After importing the RAID configuration, the utility should prompt you to start the rebuild process, which will reconstruct the redundant data on the healthy disks using the data from the remaining disks.
  6. The rebuild process may take some time, depending on the size of the disks and the RAID configuration.

If the RAID metadata is corrupted or cannot be detected, the utility may not be able to import the existing configuration. In that case, you may need to attempt data recovery methods or seek professional assistance to recover the data before recreating the RAID array.

It’s essential to follow the specific instructions provided by the RAID controller’s management utility or the rescue environment, as the steps may vary depending on the hardware and software involved.
