Random Picture when loading a video

Hey there,

I have not been able to find this problem on search engines or on this site, I may be the only one with this problem but I’m hoping someone can help.

I’m getting a recent captured screen shot or picture from my galaxy tab 2 as the picture when a video is loading.  I have tried everything to remove this image once it shows up.  The only thing that worked was a factory defaults reset on the WDTV Live, which worked till the next time a screen shot or picture was taken.

Any Ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks

Hello,

I recommend you contact WD support for assistance with this issue.

ah this one …

the WD is a DNLA renderer

which means that any upnp capable server can send music, video’s or photo’s to the device and it will be rendered/played

however, if the upnp server does not send metadata photo’s or video will display behind the on screen display (ie where it’s not visible)

so then when you start/stop a video just for a moment the on screen display turns off and allows you to see the picture

to fix the issue stop sharing the file out from your samsung device

Same problem. A still of Harley Quinn from the game injustice suddenly appeared on my WDTV live device. I had never seen the still before, but my teenage daughter recognized it. She had downloaded it to her phone. She is trying to determine how to unshare the photos (She just got her phone.) I am hoping that a delete of the .wdtv live directory on the external drive will fix the problem.

delete .wd_tv folder will not get rid of it

the way DNLA works the phone in this case is actively pushing the picture to the WD

WD is just displaying what is being sent by the phone

the actual picture is stored on the phone only
