What are the difference between the RED and the GREEN HDD 2Tb?
I have the red one but it has errors… so I’m evaluating to buy a green one.

Hi,
Welcome to the WD Community.
The WD Red is designed for network units and the WD Green is designed for home use as storage unit.
See the information page for each drive on the WD Site.
WD Green: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=780.

Regarding the erros: IMHO there is no general rule.
I bought an WD-AV (3 TByte) drive, which had so many errors I got a refund. Before that, I bought a WD-AV drive with 2 TByte, which is running for 2 years now without errors AFAIK.
Yeah, but what’s the different usage in home storage than NAS?
My HD is the second storage of my Windows desktop, because the first (containing Windows) is SSD: I use the second storage (SATA) to store mail files, browser cache, all the docs on cloud… a sort of working area, to avoid to use the SSD where only the programs stand.
This said, do you think a red drive could be good for me or it’s better a green one?
