Today I asked a WD Support Technician if he could identify which LOG FILES on the WDMyCloud stores a remote users: Access Date and Time and Duration. I was informed as a policy, that subject was nothing that the WD Support can engage in.
QUESTION: Has anyone out there also looked into the Linux LOG FILES where this information can be obtained? If so, I would like to know what you have lerned
PRODUCT ENHANCEMENT: Being a file server, I think that the WDMyCloud Administrative Dashboard should provide the functionality where User Access and File Activity information can be obtained. IF a WDMyCloud is used in a company environment where all users in the company have access to SHARE(s), it is important to know if a user EDITS or DELETES a ‘Document of Record’.
This is important functionality for any Document Management System, which I know a WDMyCloud is not sold as, but it still does not excuse the fact that it will be employed as one.
