Replace HDD wigh higher capacity : how to do?

Hello,

I have an EX2 with 2x1TO HDDs in RAID1 and I want to change the HDDs by 2x4TO in RAID1. I want to keep the datas.
If I

  1. Turn off, replace HDD #1
  2. Turn on, rebuilt the RAID1
  3. Turn off, replace HDD #2
  4. Turn on, rebuilt the RAID1
Will it be ok ? Doing that, will I have automaticaly the 4TO capacity, or because step 2 (1 HDD 1TO + 1 HDD 4TO) the RAID1 will remain with 1TO capacity after step 4? If that, what will I have to do ?

Thanks for your help.
Stéphane

Yes, this will be fine.

Hello,

I have an EX2 with 2x1TB HDDs in RAID1 and I want to change the HDDs by 2x3TB in RAID1 and keep the data.
I followed your instructions but a little bit differently.

  1. Turn off, replace HDD #2
  2. Turn on, rebuilt the RAID1
  3. Turn off, replace HDD #1
  4. Turn on, rebuilt the RAID1

After that capacity remained to 1TB.
What can I do now ?
