Reset WD My Cloud EX2

Hello,

I have a problem with my EX2.

In the past I had my EX2 connected to a switch and with a fixed IP.

Now I moved and I had to plug the EX2 directly to my new router.

But now I can’t get access to my EX2, because the computer is still looking for the old IP. Also if I take a look “inside” the router, the device is not listed!

I found in the manual that the reset button at the back resets all settings of the EX2 without loosing the data. So I pushed this button, but nothing happened?

How long do I have to push this button? Or is there something else I have to look for reset / or another way?

Best Regards

Hello and welcome to the WD community.

Normally, on the reset process, you press the button for 3 to 6, then the unit does a power cycle and you should be able to get a dynamic IP, my advice is to reset it again, try to connect it directly to a computer via Ethernet port and then set the static IP from there, so when you connect it back on the router it has its fixed IP. Here are some links that might help you out:

You can get the information from the computer, before connecting the EX2 directly it to get the information.
