Setting up MyCloud on new computer plus 4 second reset?

Please help! My Macbook which contained my dashboard just died on me, so I’m having to setup MyCloud (I have the MyCloud EX2) on a new laptop. Problem is, I have forgotten what my admin password is. Can I remedy this by doing the 4 second reset so that it refreshes the admin login info? After I do that, should I just go to MyCloud.com and follow the steps of setting up a new device?

I also have the MyCloud app on my phone. If I perform the 4 second reset, can I access my admin dashboard through my phone? I’m scared that I will inadvertently delete all the files I have, and given that I just lost my laptop, I absolutely cannot afford to lose my backup files as well. Again, please help!!!

Please note the My Cloud EX2 is different than the single bay/single drive My Cloud device (the general subject of the My Cloud subforum). There is a dedicated subforum for the EX2 series of devices.

See the following WD Support Knowledgebase article on how to reset the EX2:

If one has an EX2 Ultra see this link:

Also the My Cloud Dashboard is not on the computer, it is part of the firmware of the My cloud device.
