Setup and backup on my book drive

I have a my cloud home 4 gb single drive (not duo). I currently have it set to backup the photos from my phone, and the photos from my wife’s phone. I also have my macbook time machine backing up to the device regularly. As we both have the app on our individual phones, she cannot see my photos uploading and I cannot see hers. I also cannot see the macbook backup via my phone app, only via Finder on my macbook. So for each respective backup, I have to look at it through a separate device. I also have a “my book” connected to the usb port of the my cloud home. I am able to use my app to backup my account on my cloud home to the my book. I can also do that for my wife’s phone. However, I cannot access my time machine backups to send to the my book backup drive.

Is there an easy way to just backup the my cloud home to the my book connected to the usb port? Can I just make all documents visible on the my cloud home so I can somehow drag and drop them all to the my book? Or set the my cloud home to backup only new data on to the my book on a schedule… like weekly, or every other week? Searching the forums, I haven’t seen a solution to this yet. Thanks in advance!

(Perhaps I should have just gotten a Duo?)

The only way that I have so far been able to view the contents of the usb external drive is by clicking the “copy usb” button in the app, and the “select files.” The only way I have seemed to be able to attempt to backup my time machine backups is to disconnect my usb drive, then connect it directly to my computer, then try to drag and drop the time machine file from my cloud disc in finder to the connected usb disc. However, this fails each time I try. I am thinking this may not be the personal cloud setup I need. Any other thoughts on a workaround for this?
