Setup question

I have a WD TV Live Hub, which is full; wired connection to my router

I also have WD Book with aditional media (currently connected to my computer; not accessed via the Hub)

I’m considering buying a WD TV Play, but I have a question.

What I want to know is, can I:

  1. attach the Book to the Play, which has wi-fi connection to my router

  2. keep the hub connected directly to my router

  3. have the Play access media from the Hub

  4. have the Hub access media on the Book, via the Play

Basically, I’m trying to effectively turn the Play into a Hub via an external Book, and then have each device access each others’ library

Will this work?  If not, would it work with a WD TV Streaming?

Do I otherwise need to connect the Book to the router directly?  (I’d like to not need my computer as an intermediary)

Thanks

  1. Yes.

  2. Yes.

  3. Yes, via the Hub’s Twonky server

  4. No.  The WDTV Play has no server capabilities.

Would this work if I get a WD TV Live Streaming instead of a Play??

What if I plug the Book directly into the Hub?  What if I plug the Book directly into the Router?

What is the difference between the Play and the Live? - particularly as it relates to watching media that I own and store locally, rather than using online/streaming services

Thanks
