I am a newbie in the DLNA world, especially in Twonky and My Book World Ed. I have an empty 1TB World Ed, with another 1TB drive full of media attached by USB. At the moment I can’t seem to find a way of sharing media on the attached drive through the media server. I have had a look through the user manual but it’s quite skimpy on Twonky-related stuff.
Is this achievable? If so, can someone please point me in the right direction? Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.
You will need to copy your data onto the My Book World to use it with Twonky. You can also get a PC-based Media server (there is a version of Twonky for the PC, as well as other ones such as TV Versity which I personally use) and serve from your USB drive if it is connected to your PC.
If you are using a WD TV Live, Live Plus, and (I assume) Live Hub it will detect pretty much anything. The advantage to using the My Book World (or the newer My Book Live) is that you can plug in multiple drives to your network (I have one drive dedicated to action and horror movies for example) without having to have your PC running.
