If I purchase a my Book Duo like the model listed WDBFBE0080JBK, is this a 8TB usable drive meaning 2 pieces 8TB drives or 2 pieces 4TB equal to 8TB but for raid use.

Thanks, Which model is your, the book like style or the black box one, as I see two types available.
How reliable is this drive, I was considerring a akitio external raid case and use the Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5 8TB ST8000NM0055 SATA3 6Gb/s /256MB Cache HDD, but i’m reconsidring as I have always used seagate, and I have this drive (4TB version) for about half a year now and it’s giving a whining noise and i’m getting it repaired or exchanged, so unrealiable, probably because it’s has a faster rpm at 7200, so for the purpose of storage a slower drive is probably much better.
