Software stopped working, ended up erasing it

I just bought a new external portable WD My Passport Ultra Metal 3 gigabyte.

I was backing up my Windows 10 PC. I backed up to 100 gigabyte out of 500 gigabyte, then during the backup I pressed the View Files link on the WD SmartWare while the backup button was enabled and my PC was being backed up. The View Files opened, but both the WD SmartWare and the View Files froze and I could not close them. Finally I was able to close both. However, afterward I noticed the files are not being backed up anymore. I ran the WD Drive Utilities tests, and it passed two out of three tests. I didn’t run the long test, i.e., the third test, as it would take several hours.

Later I deleted all the 100 gigabytes files from the drive, but some folders could not be deleted. Because of this, I erased the drive using WD Drive Utilities. After I erased the drive, it asked me to format the disk, but didn’t give me permission to format the disk. Then when I checked the drive, I noticed that I have lost all the built-in software that came with the drive, and the drive is completely empty.

Now I don’t know what to do. I need to get the built-in software back.

You can download all included applications from WD’s site.
