Sony TV unable to read video files from WD MYbooklive

Havign trawled teh internet for hours I still dont seem to have found an answer

I have a MYbook live connected to my router. All files are in shared directories. The videos can be played on my PC but are not detected at all on the TV.

The TV can however see and play the photos and music.

I dont seem to be able to get a straight answer or solution to resolves this.

All I want is to be able to play the video files from DVD on the TV. I have even tried installing Twonky Mgr on my PC and point teh directories to the MYbooklive but this didnt work either

Any suggestions  If I need to re-encode the videos into another format thats fine just not sure what product will work

Any suggestions

Thanks

Kwack

Maybe the videos you are trying to playback are bot supported by your TV.  You may contact the TV manufacturer to confirm what video formats are compatible with it.

My friend has a Sony Bravia and has the same problem with the My Book Live, and the new Duo. I would guess it is a TV limitation. A lot of TVs and blue ray players only do the minimum to get DLNA certified, and really don’t do it that well.

What do you see in Status field of Twonky  webpage in part of you video content directory? Is a counter differ from zero?
