If I have the WDTV connected to my TV via HDMI and the optical connected to a soundbar, I can play videos and hear the sound fine. Occasionally I connect via HDMI to my projector to play a movie and still have the optical connected to the soundbar but now the sound doesn’t play. I don’t get it, all that changes is where the HDMI is going to - can this change the audio output too? I tried going to the audio settings to set it to Digital Pass Through via Optical Only but that didn’t help. Any idea what’s wrong?
It’s all disassembled and reassembled in a different location so it does get switched off and on again but I’ll try doing that as the final step. Thanks.
Maybe the Audio settings aren’t being retained for some reason and I wonder if cutting the power to it might be part of the problem. So when you hook it back up to the projector you might want to just check the Audio settings too…they really shouldn’t change but you never know…
