I’ve been using my WD Live for a couple of years using HDMI cable. Recently I took it on holidays and used a composite connection and now I can’t get the settings to stick back to HDMI. I can use the box with the composite cable and have tried a factory reset but it will not keep the HDMI setting. I’ve googled for a solution, it seems a lot of people have this problem and most answers seem to be a “dead HDMI slot” and the like. But it’s worked perfectly fine for a couple of years and the first time I use a composite I get this problem. Is there a solution?

What exactly is happening?
You plug the HDMI cable into the WD player and the TV. You turn on the TV and then you turn on the player what do you see?
What type of TV do you have and what resolutions does it support (720 / 1080)?
Have you tried another HDMI cable?
Have you tried another HDMI input on your TV?
