I have two 4TB units and they both have the same problem with turning on. According to the manual you only need to press and hold the power button for so long for it to start up. I can press and hold anything Upton 10 times with no joy. Other times they will start up first time. Just wondering if this is normal or a fault. Strange they’ve both been doing it from new.
Is it connected directly into a wall outlet? Dont use a power strip.

Yes they were plugged into a multi plug extension lead. I have tried your solution but it doesn’t seem to make any difference. Still sometimes first go, sometimes second go and so on. They work first go if I switch on from the mains socket.
