I use my WD My Cloud as a cloud storage in my office, I mean me and my coworker we saved the job we are doing directly in a folder into the WD Cloud, in order to have always an updated folder of our work!
The thing is that I want to have a backup/sync of this folder(WD Cloud) in my laptop, so I can access the same files once I am offline…
I saw already loads of comments how to do the sync laptop → wd cloud but not the opposite. Any sugestion??!
If you use the Pro or Enterprise version of Windows, you have a feature in there called “Offline folders”. This will allow to store a local copy of the files from mounted mapped network drives, when your laptop is not connected.
You also have third party PC software to sync between PC and NAS or vice versa. I am using SynbackSE because it keeps versions files, can sync upon changes, etc. But there are plenty of alternatives (GoodSync, for example).
As I am usind windows 8, I see the option “Offline folders” but don’t know why when I click on it nothing happens, any new window… nothing!
Anyway, I am using the SynbackSE and it is working nicely… Just one thing, I checked the box “Execut the profile when there are some changes …” but when I change something nothing happens, I have to execute the profile sync by myself. Appart from this it’s working fine ;)
