There was a problem connecting to the server “WDMyCloud” when syncing with iTunes

I purchased the WD MyCloud NAS expressly for storing my 2GB of music and using the remainder of the disk for Time Machine.

I had so many problems syncing iTunes libraries and having iTunes recreate a new library because it could not find the drive that I turned off sharing and started using the WDMyCloud strictly for TimeMachine backups along with another Time Capsule. However, everytime I sync to my devices I get the There was a problem connecting to the server “WDMyCloud” error. iTunes does not have sharing turned on and, the disk is attached. I cannot seem to get this to go away.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried setting a static ip on the unit? Could be that the router is changing the ip and the server is not able to properly reconnect.

Have you tried asking in the iTunes forums as it’s not really a MyCloud issue but an iTunes one.
