Time for new nas?

Hello,

At the moment I have an My book live duo 6tb. Using this in mirror mode, that saved me 1 time already.
After warranty 1 disk died (while the tool reported that everything was ok!) and replaced that one. Most important did not lose any data.
At this moment in time the device is going slowly to his 5 years birthday.

The setup I have :
WD book live duo 6tb (3 tb effective) plus an WD external 2 tb sub drive on the Nas connected to backup the Nas.
The drive is being used for streaming with the WD apps. We have hooked our iPhones / iPads to it to backup. Since short we have an windows 10 mobile phone, seems that is not supported.

Since it is slowly 5 years old, i’m really terrified that the device goes dead and I lose data.
Just want to see some opinions what should you do in my case?

Any honest advice is very welcome.
Each day when I go down stairs I take a look on the device: phew it is still working.

thanks in advance

I’d most likely buy me a 6 or 8 TB external drive (keeping the price down), and start backing up the My Book Live Duo, now. Set up the external drive to a pc/laptop and just start copying the data over the network to it, until it finishes. You should already have been doing this, but you still may have time.

All you need to do is pull out your wallet and buy a better NAS from WD or anyone else!
