Time Machine and My Cloud Home

Hello. Just purchased the My Cloud Home 4TB. I have a Macbook Air running Ventura. I have been trying for over an hour to backup with Time Machine. I can add the disk and then asked me to enter my name and password for the server so Time Machine can access it. I enter the password and get there was a problem connecting to the server. If I go as a guest it will work. something is not working right.

You are in the wrong sub-forum. This is for the WDMYCLOUD not the My Cloud Home.

Right. The people who frequent this sub-forum just don’t know much about the mycloud Home line of products - - → the android based OS for Home is significantly different than the Linux based OS/5 stuff.

The My Cloud Home is a completely different device than the My Cloud line of devices. It has different features and uses a different operating system than the My Cloud line. See the specific subforum for the My Cloud Home where users more familiar with that device may be able to assist.
