Problem with My Cloud Mirror and Time Machine on iMac OS 10.8.5 and MacBook Pro 10.8.5.
Have had many occurrences where we received the following message on both computers, but at different times:
Time Machine completed a verification of your backups on “192.168.0.6”. To improve reliability, Time Machine must create a new backup for you.
Of course each time we lost ALL former backups!
Now we receive the following message, first on the iMac and now also on the MacBook Pro:
The backup disk image “/Volumes/Public/XXXX iMac.sparsebundle” is already in use.
I see that ALL backups on both computers have been lost AGAIN!
I found the following suggestion on the WD website to reboot the MyCloudMirror:
- In Safari log onto WD MyCloud using the IP address ###.###.#.#/UI/
- Settings
- Utilities
- Device Maintenance
- Device Power: Reboot and select OK
We still get the same message about the disk image being in use!
Does anyone know the solution? If I could I would return the MyCloudMirror unit because it has been nothing but a SEVERE headache!!
