TimeMachine Folder Access

Hey guys,

I got my hands on this mybooklive 3tb a while ago and have been using it with my mac for timemachine backup purposes. Everything works great so far it backups and I can see the backups are there when I:
Connect to server…

afp://mybooklive.local

select guest

and mount TImeMachine (public and smartware are also listed)

My problem here is… I have realised a fatal fault in this plan. Recently my mac had gotten some kind of fatal kernel error and basically would not boot properly. I started to panik because I had to hand in some work the next day that was on it but remembered my trustly mybooklive: not so trusty. The only other type of comupter in my house would be a pc running windows 7 and I have no idea how to access the specified folder: TimeMachine on it. Eventually I just recovered the data by taking out the mac’s hardrive but I was wondering if perhaps there was some way to access the TimeMachine folder on a pc. I have tried doing drive mapping with: \ipofmybooklive\TimeMachine but to no prevail even though mounting \ipofmybooklive\public does access the public folder. Was wondering i there was any way possible to access this folder. Please share some of your thoughts on the topic :)

Ps. I have a program that can read .sparsebundles presumably but if you would like to add some names it would be greatly appreciated! …if you even can get to that part.

What’s up, did you tried the address \mybooklive\mybooklive-backup? Another program that might work is called hfsexplorer.

Is this what you meant? If so then no… Is there something in the settings I have to change or is that not correctly done or something… \10.94.191.118\public maps it correctly but how on earth do i get to the time machine folder?!?!

Also on the mac it says the folder is in the same directory as Public and Smartware entitled ‘TimeMachine’ but when doing \10.94.191.119\TimeMachine it brings up the same error. Also Diagnosing doesn’t do anything helpful
