I’m not sure why but it seems like I am only transferring from my iMac to my My Cloud at 2mbps? Any idea why this would be? My router says something about 100mbps on it. I’m using a cat5 cable that came with the hard drive. Also, when transferring fro my Mac to My Cloud there is a lag. It takes a couple of minutes for the hard drive to recognize the transfer. Also, during the transfer the hard drive stops and then continues after a couple of minutes. Any reason why this would be?

How is your iMac connected to the router? Via WiFi or via Ethernet cable? What are you using to verify the transfer speed? How large is the file(s) being transfered.

If you  do a search through this site you’ll find lots of threads on transfer speed problems. Namely it comes down to how one is connected to their WD My Cloud (wired or WiFi), the network speed of the router, how one is transfering data, and if that data is being transfered to a USB drive attached to the WD My Cloud.

iMac is connected via wifi. I was just going by the little copying screen that pops up when I transfer a file from my iMac to My Cloud. I’m not sure how to check the network speed of my router. My Cloud is connected via a Cat 5 Ethernet cable to the router.
