Hi all,
New to the forums (and MBL). I’ve set up a private share that is password protected yet I am still able to access all files, from any machine on the network, via Twonky without having to put in the password. Seems pointless to have a password set up if you can access all content without having to enter in said password.
Did I miss a step in set up or is this just how it is? Right now, my solution is to turn Twonky off when not needed and then re-enable it when I want to stream through my XBOX or other device. This clearly is a huge pain but it’s all I can think of.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
I think I’ve figured it out. Under Settings → Media → Twonky Server → choose devices to block.
Still no password required but I think it will work.
What version of the Firmware are you running? Some of the versions do not block DLNA (Twonky) access by default. In order to check :
Go to the UI >> Shares
Click on the Private Share
Look on the right hand pane, there should be a drop-box that says “Media Serving”. This needs to be set to “None”.
Check your firmware too. If you are not on the latest, it would be a good idea to go ahead and update. I believe the latest will do this automatically if you create a private share.
