Hi,
I noticed a wrong behaviour with Twonky Server and “Folder” view mode. If I connect via a DLNA Client and go to my music folder, the sort order here is alphanumeric by track title (id3 tag). I think it should be sorted by id3 track number or at least alphanumeric by filenames. Maybe it’s a firmware issue… Any other experienced that?
Thanks!
That is actually something normal when you are using a media server to broadcast. Most media servers WON’T read the id3 tag info inside a music file, your option is to use another media server other than Twonky that has that feature.
Hi “ThePizzaMatrix”, thanks very much for the answer. But the problem is just the opposite. Twonky read ID3 Title tag, but NOT the track number (when in “Folder” mode). So if i have 3 file like this:
01 - B.mp3 (ID3 Title = B, ID3 #Track = 1)
02 - A.mp3 (ID3 Title = A, ID3 #Track = 2)
03 - C.mp3 (ID3 Title = C, ID3 #Track = 3)
Twonky, when in “Folder” mode, shows:
A
B
C
I’d prefer that Twonky read the filename, just ignoring the ID3 title… with this “feature”, i can’t use Twonky in “Folder” mode. You suggest to use another media server, but how to install in my WD TV Live Hub??? I’m a bit confused…
It’s still a meta-data issue as the media server won’t read the track order, only the tag name. You can can edit the id3 tag to add numbers to the tag name.
I completely agree with your point of view.
If we select folders then we want to see files and not ID3 tags.
