Usb nas backup wrong progress

I have backed up a 4,3,2 tb drives to this device and each time the progress bar shown is comletely wrong. I am on the 2tb again and it is showing 96% with less the 25% of the data copied.

Yes, this is a known bug, at least to users and hopefully to WD.

Are you able to successfully backup your USB drives?  I have been unable to successfully backup my USB drives using the backup feature on the NAS.  The scenario seems to be that if I try to backup a large amount of data (not sure where the cut off point is, but probably somewhere around 20GB), the progress bar will move over to 96% in a minute or two and then stay there.  This error in reporting the progress is usually the first indication, at least for me, that the transfer will eventually fail (job status ends with “cancelled”).  During the time the transfer is taking place, I observe that initially files are getting copied over at a decent rate, but then the job slows to a crawl to the point where I may have to wait a day for it to finish.  When it finishes, the status is cancelled and the files that were getting copied over are not longer on the destination.  BTW, you may want to verify the permissions/ownership of the files that get copied to the NAS - I have had issues with those attributes getting changed so the files can not be deleted from the NAS.

Currently, the backup section of my NAS has become disabled after attempting to transfer files over the last week.  But I am curious if anyone else has successfully used this feature to transfer large amount of data over in one shot.  Before the USB backup became disabled for me, I had to transfer smaller chunks to avoid errors, but I guess I wore out the feature in the process.

You may have better luck with something like robocopy for windows.
