Using My Passport Ultra with my iPad Air 2

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to set up My Passport Ultra with my iPad Air 2 please?
It doesn’t show up at the moment when I connect My Passport Ultra to my iPad.
I am using Apples Lightening to USB 3 Camera Adapter.
The iPad is running IOS 13.2.2.
I have downloaded My Cloud onto the iPad.

To the best of my knowledge, WD drives are drives for use with computers only, you cannot attach them to iOS or Android devices. They only work with computers because they are powered from the computer’s battery, the battery in an iDevice is too weak. If you want to use your drive to save files from your iPad, you will need to transfer them to a computer first.

They will work if the USB ports can provide enough power (up to 900 mA for USB3.0) and if the host device supports a “Mass Storage Device”.
