That’s a limitation of many NAS systems, not just WD. It requires the NAS’s SMB server to be configured in a very specific way such that file attributes are handled differently.
Okay, so from what I am reading here - it is doable, but only by someone who knows what they are doing.
Would someone care to quote me a price on helping out? I have general knowledge and could probably pull this off based on what was written in your link, but would probably save myself and tech support an incredible amount of time and frustration just hiring a pro to do it in 10 minutes.

With WD’s, it’s not that simple. Many configuration files are re-created when powered off/on, reconfigured, etc. which means your changes likely won’t stick.
