This result indicate a drive that has failed or is about to. It is advisable to take it back and ask for a replacement.

If possible, return the drive to your place of purchase. You will most likely get a new replacement. If instead you return your drive to WD, then you may get a refurbished one in exchange.

Thank you.

I will try to contact the retailer.

I have 12 of these drives. None are older than 1 year. Most less than 6 months. I currently have 4 that are failing. 2 with the error you have. I use them to store large video files. Most have never been played on these storage disks. A 33% failure rate on disks that very rarely if ever are used equates to the status of **bleep** Drives. I am in the process of RMA but do not intend on using the replacements. I’m in the early on in the process of phasing them out because they are NOT RELIABLE. These drives should not be on the market. Shame on you WD for taking my money and selling this ■■■■. I’ve been buying WD drives for 20 years with the exception of 1 Samsung and 1 OCZ. I think that’s about to change. Brand loyalty is obviously for schmucks.

**Updated** This issue has been resolved by WD to my satisfaction.

Most of friends told me that WD Green is not good as other HD.

I formatted this HD and now it’s ok.

Im thinking of returning my WD20EARS-00MVWB0 in exchange for a WD20EARS-60MVWBO to WD. So you’r are saying that im for certain going to get a refurbished one not even the WD20EARS-60MVWBO model?

How can i for certain be sure about that?
