WB Black in USB 3.0 dock spins down

I am using Black internal drives in external USB 3.0 docks for use in video recording and editing applications. Is there any way, using Windows 7 Pro or a WD utility, to keep the drive from spinning down? I am already using a third-party utility that writes a small text file at specific intervals, but that seems a little silly.

Does WD provide a means to reset the drives so they will not spin down?

Thanks!

WD has not released any utilities for this purpose. Let’s see if an experienced user can provide some insight about this.
