WD Backup app not working

I have got a new My Ultra Passport 2TB. I set up automatic back up once a week through the apps provided. After the initial back up, which was successful, when I click on the app nothing happens, when I click on ‘back up now’ from the WD icon in my Windows 10 tool bar, nothing happens. When I look on the drive I can see that nothing has been backed up since the initial back up when I installed the apps.

I want to change my settings to back up manually instead of automatically too, but without access to the app I can’t do this.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing with no improvement.

Can anyone offer some advise? (Don’t know much about computers so please use simple language so I understand!)

If WD Backup is not working then try WD SmartWare.

I am having this same problem. WD SmartWare only has an app called WD Quick View and it does nothing also. How can I use the application to configure the backup ?

WD Smartware IS NOT supposed to work with the LATEST My Passport Ultras / ONLY My Backup, & it reads like this is a NEW VERSION Ultra. Right?
