I’m about to order a 1TB WD Blue SSHD, model number WD10J31X hybrid drive for use in a year-old HP Pavillion notebook computer, model 15-n040us. In doing my research I’ve seen several references to perhaps having to get some kind of “cable adapter kit” or some-such to make it work properly. Also I’ve seen references to the OEM drive vs. the “Retail” boxed version, implying that a cable (if it’s even needed) may come in the retail box but not with the OEM drive and also that the OEM drive doesn’t have a warranty but the retail boxed drive does. Anyway, my question is this: Is the interface on this drive any different from the standard 2.5" SATA notebook drive and if so, does the necessary cable / adapter kit come in the “Retail” box or does it need to be ordered separately? Thanks and standing by…
