My old wd drive got fried two days ago after 6 years of faithful service. i want to buy a new wd caviar blue hdd 500gb but im so confused about the warranty. is it 3 years or 5 years. the online warranty policy states it to be 5 years but all the retailers i approached say its only 3 years.
caviar blue is not readily procurable here, has to be ordered. if its 3 years than i rather go for a hdd readily available here i.e.Seagate than wait for a WD(green is available but wouldn’t suit my needs, and cant afford the black only 1tb model available!)
