WD Elements SE through MyBook World Edition on Mac

I have a MyBook World Edition connected to my mac (Snow Leopard) via the network.  I want to add a WD Elements SE via USB through the MBWE.  The MBWE is accessible on the mac.  The Elements is accessible if directly connected to the mac via USB.  Can I connect the Elements through the MBWE, and if so, how do I make it visible on my mac?
