I think my WD World Edition II (White Light) hardware is malfunctioning. I have removed the internal Drives , once attached with the computer the drive does show up in the Disk Management with partitions but no drive letters. Which confirms that the hard drive is in good shape.
I have some important data in the drives, which is believed to be intact. Is there a utility or a way to access those stored files in windows Explorer . In other words can those files be copied to my system.
Hello, the internal format for the My Book hard drives is EXT3, so it’s not natively recognized by Windows. If you had a RAID 1 setup, you should be able to connect the internal hard drive to a Linux PC and access your files.
