Hi,
I am new to this forum but Im glad I found it. I recently bought a WD HD media player for my TV and a WD 2tb External Harddrive. Once I was done loading the External I connected it to the media player to play some movies that i have on there, ( have movies in MKV, AVI, and MPEG4), but the media player said “No storage device” and when i clicked on the view photos icon the media player said “Unrecognized USB device”. SO, i disconnected the external and loaded a movie onto a 4GB thumb drive i have and hooked that up to the Media player and the media player read the thumbdrive perfectly. DO I need to reformat my external? if I do, how? and will I lose all the stuff i backed up?
Pertinent information
- i have my external connected to my Mac, but it didn’t require any reformatting, i just plugged int he USB and the mac recognized it.
-
I also have the thumbdrive working on my mac, so I’m assuming this isn’t a problem
-
ALSO. I am using the external as my Time Machine backup for my mac, Time Machine is basically the program mac uses to back everything up, i dont know if this is the problem.
Please help.
Thanks again. I have email notification on so if there is nay more information needed just ask and ill get back to you as soon as possible.
