WD Live TV Invalid user/pass connecting to NAS via AFP

We have our media on a dlink dns-323 NAS, for some reason SMB is flaky with my macbook (osx 10.10) so using fonz_fun_plug we have enabled AFP. It is working fine with the macbook how ever on the wd live tv streaming only sees the AFP share and no longer sees the SMB share. I know the SMB protocol still works as I’ve forced it on my macbook and it still works on our windows laptop.
I’m suspecting that there is a compatibility issue between the version of AFP that the WD uses and the AFP that the macbook and NAS use.

The firmware on the WD is the latest (updated last night)

Is there a way to force the WD to use the SMB connection? If we enable NFS on the NAS will the WD default to that protocol over AFP?

Solved my own issue here, after enabling NFS support in the setup menu and NFS support by using an add on on my NAS we’ve been able to browse the NAS again.

Oddly enough we can connect from the WD to the macbook via AFP.

Further note we have reset all share user and pass on the WD

The NAS started showing up on the list of windows (SMB) shares but still won’t connect. Error is “Unable to connect to the selected source. Please make sure the selected source is active and available for sharing”

Other devices on the network are able to connect so it’s confusing why this one wont.
