WD Live TV won't show files in shared folders on Macbook

Bear with me… I’m not exactly an expert when it comes to computers.

But I’ve gone through all the steps and read a zillion forums to no avail.

That’s why I’m here now :slight_smile:

Mac OSX 10.7.3

WD TV live firmware 1.07.15 with a wired connection.

Quite simply, my WD TV LIve won’t load files from the shared folders I’ve created on my Mac.

  • I go to videos

  • Choose network share

  • Windows share

  • It says "MACBOOKPRO-08E9 and I choose that.

  • Then it asks for my Mac login details.

  • Finally a message comes up saying “Unable to connect to the selected source Please make sure blah blah…”

  • The WDTV LIve does appear as a shared device on my Desktop. But I can’t connect with it. It asks

me for a password to “Connect to the server WDTVLive”.

I’ve checked everything as best I can but I’m not sure where I’m going wrong.

Any advice?

Mac Lion, Samba, Simba, Scar bla blah blah…

So i’ll just try a work-around
