Hi!
I have the WD Live HD Media Player and am very pleased with it - except! I have ripped all of my DVD’s and now have them on a hard disk in VOB-format. I can play them easily, but I can’t see their names - I only see a lot of VOB-files!
Each DVD-movie is in its own folder, fx:
[1920 - Golem, wie er in die Welt kam, Der]
VOB-files
I have A LOT of DVD-movies, and it is REALLY annyoing that I have to go through over 100 VOB-files to find the correct movie, sigh. I want the player to show me the folder names instead, is this possible?
Kind regards,
Jesper
As far as I know, that will NOT work for Network-based storage.
I think it DOES work for locally connected USB drives.
An alternative, as untidy as it may seem, is to stop using VOB files and use ISO files instead.
Really, there’s no good reason for VOB files that I’ve ever seen…
Just use the freeware program called imgburn to convert the DVDs to DVD ISOs.
Single file per movie. Much cleaner. :)
Wouldn’t it work to just turn off the Media Library, and then end up browsing by folder?
I’ve never had the library on on any of my WDTVs – personally I have no use for it.
There’s no media library built for Network Shares, so the results would be the same…
