WD-My Net AC Wi-Fi Bridge

There is no product category for your networking products.  So I’ll post it here.

I have purchased 8 of your My Ne AC Wi-FI Bridges and am having lots of problems with them.

Specifically:

a) The Wireless Bridge can get an IP via DHCP and I can ping it and use the Web interface from the Network side (via wireless).

b) The Wireless bridge will pass DHCP discovers upstream fine, I can see them at the network port of the AP.

c) The AP sends down the DHCP offers.  The Bridge does not pass them to the Ethernet ports.  Therefore the devices attached to the bridge never get an IP on 802.11ac.

d) If I give the PC a static IP ping up/downstream (so the MAC is learned), I can pass traffic.

e) It appears that downstream broadcast DHCP Offers are not being passed.

f) A different brand 802.11ac USB works fine, gets an IP and passes traffic fine (verifying the AP setup).

Anyone else have this problem?

Latest software is on the WD Wireless bridges.

Same behavior is true of two different AP manufacturers.  Seems like I have 8 boat anchors.

In my case, the Internet LED of the AC Bridge would not lit after a reboot, with all the devices behind it losing connectivity, and I had to reset it to make it work. The “solution” was to set the 5GHz channel on my AC 1300 router to 40, and now all seems fine.

I too had my Channel set at 153 (too high for the CA Bridge’s antiquated radio) and now am set at 40. Everything works on the lower 5 GHz frequencies (5.15-5.25 GHz).

And I had my 5G on channel 48 all along and never had an issue with my recently purchased media bridge.
My critical settings in my Asus router for 5G. EVERY DEVICE works with these and have for a few years.
