Normally the I/O error is related to a bad USB cable or a either port on the computer or the drive.
Are you able to test the drive on a different computer with a different USB cable.
I have already tested it on many computers and laptop, and tried another cable, but still nothing.
And my cable is working, I have tried it in another external hard disk

I have the same prob exactly with my disk drive ![]()
Then I think we shouldn’t buy any other WD devices as it all have the same issues with no solves ![]()
just wasting our money and data
