WD My Passport was XP now 7

Hi All,

New to computers, so please be patient.

I have a WD My Passport Essential and it was working fine on my desktop computer with Windows XP.

My computer “broke” and I have had it fixed.  It is now been upgraded and running Windows 7.

The guy who fixed it saved all “My Documents” folders and transferred them to Windows 7.  He did not transfer any Programme files.

I have not plugged in the My Passport as I am very unsure what will happen.

Can someone please explain to me what will happen when I plug the My Passport in and if I have to do anything

It should work like when you plugged into XP the first time. If you used Smartware and a password you will have to reinstall them. If you didn’t use them you shouldn’t have to install anything except possibly prompts for drivers.
