I have just replaced a MyCloud Home with a MyCloud EX2 Ultra and I’m setting up the Ultra for the first Time.
The setup appeared to complete exactly as I expected. It’s configured to RAID 0, both disks have been checked/verified by the system and report as good. I have setup 1 User and 1 Share (as public). I am logged onto my Windows laptop as the same “User”. If I check File Explorer via my Windows 10 laptop, the device is visible under under Network Locations, but if I click on the Network device (MyCloudEX2Ultra), it cannot see the Share and simply reports as “Windows cannot access \ MYCLOUDEX2ULTRA”. However, if I try exactly the same thing on my Windows 7 laptop, everything appears normal and I can see the Share in Windows Explorer. I have checked the Windows 10 optional features and “SMB 1.0/CIFS Client” (and Server) are both checked as ON.
So, why is there a difference between the Windows 10 handling of the WD Ultra versus the handling by Windows 7 ? What do I need to do to get the Share visible under Windows 10 ?
thanks
