I have purchased two WD My Passport external HDs, one approximately two years ago (1/2 TB) and the second earlier this year (2 TB) . Both of them seized to work last month, I lost all the data and was even unable to re-format them. I am very dissapointed with the WD products, I lost data and money and will never go anywere near them again.
If both of them stopped working at once as you imply, then something killed them on your system, or you are trolling.
Do they work on other systems? Did you change the cables?
And most importantly, why didn’t you have a backup?
