Just bought this and using the WD software to backup my laptop.

Connected to a USB 3.0 port, using cable included with the drive. Laptop is good spec running windows 10.

WD Backup is telling me there’s 280GB to backup and currently @ 10% after over an hour and a half

So is backing up at a rate of roughly 20Gb per hour and will take 14 hours or so.

Seems very slow to me and far cary from the 5.0Gbps transfer rates advertised.

Is this right and is there anything I can do to speed it up?

Also the WD Backup interface doesnt show either the transfer rate or estimated completion time - am I missing something, every other HD backup utility I’ve used has shown both?
